Ok...my phosphate measurement is going crazy and I've no idea why!
It's gone from 0.07 to 0.15 to 0.26 in 3 weeks.,
I make my own water...0.0 phosphate, I run Rowaphos 0.0 coming out of it, nothings died (maybe CUC, but they do go MIA at times).
This is testing with the Hanna tester, testing with the Salifret kit shows no change to what it's always been..0.03 or so.
Any ideas???

Is that with the Hanna?
Part of the problem might be that the Salifert is to insensitive to detect the changes.

Ok after a WC (10%) it's gone down to 0.15.
One thing which I though of is earlier in the week when I did the regular WC I took out the carbon which had been running for the the previous week or so.
Usually I put it in the reactor, but for the first time put it in the skimmer but I also boiled it in RO and the washed it first.
I guess I'll keep any eye on, it and get some proper phosphate free carbon to see if it was the carbon.

might it be worth using your salifert & hannah on someone elses tank to see what results you get?

Seeing carbon mentioned there makes me think that is the culprit. If I remember from an article I read years back, normal aquarium carbon is washed with a phosphoric acid solution which can obviously raise levels. The reef carbons are washed with something else, hence the higher price.
