I know my first answer someone will post is not to use the external cannister at all but I don't want to go down the sump route. So my question is.......Which external cannister will be the better one for a 190 litre FOWLR. The eheim 2229 wet/dry or eheim 2075.

Which size Vecton uv will I need for my FOWLR, my tank is a trigon 190. Will the Vecton 200 be ok?

got loads of this in my current freshwater system whish i am converting to marine and was wondering if i could use it in my marine sump please?
got live rock and was going to have a remote refigium with cheato on the return pump which will drain back into system

thinking of using 2, one as a carbon reactor, and one as a phosphate reactor.....

is anyone using these items? whats the quality liek and relaisticaly..... what volume ofaquarium woudl they be suitable for?

I am in the planning stage of a sump and would like to know what is the best system for adding calcium to the aquarium, as both calcium reactors and kalkwasser stirrers appear to do the same function, is one better than the other?

Just got another skimmer started off with a v2skim400 cheap job thinking it will do the job as lots of people have them, however iv had huge problems as it would boost & overflow also having 2 leaks from the outlet tube all the water on my power sockets & had a huge puddle on my floor it did that a few times once at 4am & I was just lucky I heard the splash sound hitting the floor so switched it off,

After some some time doing research asking on the forum & Stew stew Coral Craft Uk told me about a Reef Octopus skimmer so I did some searching & found it quite a distance away however I was in need so I went & got it, having being very close to get an internal deltec MCE500 then seen the size of it & said its not worth it taking water volume & space in my tank so I settled for the 2nd best choice.
My tank being 300ltr's I needed so i got the 2nd from the smallest skimmer that Reef octopus do the "Reef Octopus BH300 hang on the back/side of the tank with two motors in its own chamber instillation took around 10mins (for me) thats Great started it up & noticed that its overflowing again :( then my 13 year old said dad the bubbles stopper is not ment to be there as the instructions manual does not show where to place it just shows it being on the manual kids for you, so I placed it on the inlet tube where its meant to be & hay presto the water line was around 5" away from overflowing & the noise level is very low as the motores are submerged into the tank sitting around 2" below the water level, I was & still am well pleased there is some fine bubbles going on lots of action doing what it should be doing, me being a newbie & sorting this skimmer out i recommend this skimmer for ease of setting up & being safe hang on skimmers, its still early days & i am not quite sure how to tune it (thinking there is no need to) however I shell be keep an eye on it & see how long it takes for it to pull out some gunk,

had a few problems keeping starpolyps and leathers never really opening just did usual test ph 8.4 nitrate 0 amm 0 magnesium 1350ppm but calcium 350ppm and kh is reading 14.1dkh any ideas how to correct kh down to 7or 8 dkh and is this causing polyps not to open .

I have a pair of large toadstools and wondered if i could split them and re-attach the smaller one onto another rock

Never done this before so could do with some advice/
