hi, my first post, couldn't see an introduction section so hope i'm ok posting straight away on here.
bought a boyu 450 just before xmas which is going great, one clown, shrimps crabs etc. some nice softies, frogspawn and hammer. everything thriving but want more. i have been given a juwel vision which will fit perfectly in corner of living room. i intend to drill it and have a sump. first question is how small can a sump be, can i have one that only fits behind one of the doors of the cabinet. there seems to be so much info on sumps that your head just fills up and leaves you wondering if its worth it. whats the most basic sump, i mainly want to hide skimmer, heater, carbon etc. i see a lot about bubble traps/baffles and dsb. can i just have a small tank with a section for skimmer, then baffles, dsb, then return pump, some where for carbon, filter wool, etc. obviously all these compartments would be as small as possible, is it worth it or do i go for hob skimmer and ext filter.
also wondered if anyone has ever boxed off all the back of the tank and hid skimmer, sponges, filter wool, heater etc. like the boyu and aquamedic tanks.
any advice welcome.
